DE-MOLDING WEDGES

White Standard Wedge
These White wedges, made of high grade plastic, are the most commonly used wedges because of their low cost. These are the most popular demolding wedges used in the fiberglass industry. They are used by inserting the wedge into the edge of the mold. The wedge can then be carefully pushed further to aid in demolding the part. For tough parts, many wedges can used around all edges. Many shops will keep these on hand in abundance to aid in demolding the parts. Because these are made of high impact plastic, the insertion edge keeps it's edge without breaking. After many uses, this edge can be re-shaped again and again. Plastic wedges are used throughout the fiberglass industry to avoid damaging the mold and the part.

Pink Standard Wedge

White Deluxe Wedge
Made from a blended plastic, the Deluxe wedges are firmer than the Standard wedges, however they are still very economic. Sizes are the same as the Standard wedges.

Blue Deluxe Wedge

High Performance/High Impact
The Green wedges are made from high impact nylon which makes them ideal for applications where durability and reduced mold damage is preferred. The Green wedge will typically outlast the White standard wedge by a ratio of 5-1. This wedge will retain its edge integrity for a much longer period of time making it ideal for the high volume shop looking to reduce cost. Plastic wedges are used throughout the fiberglass industry to avoid damaging the mold and the part.

Heavy Duty/Handle Wedge
The Blue handle wedge is made from a poly material making it stiff and rugged. It has a comfortable handle (with great balance) which makes it ideal for use as an edge hammer, while also having a wedge shaped end for easy and quick insertion into the mold. The tip can be ground for extended service life. “Shoulders” where the handle meets the widened area are designed to allow another wedge to push for deep cavity insertion. This handle wedge is generally used for tapping or driving other wedges into the mold and to "break" edges where the fiberglass part meets the edge of the mold. Plastic wedges are used throughout the fiberglass industry to avoid damaging the mold and the part.

Tomahawk Wedge
The Tomahawk Wedge is a beveled wedge which is ideal for de-molding larger parts such as boat hulls. These wedges are placed in several areas of the mold to maintain pressure in desired areas. Air gun model available with or without air gun. 7023AG comes with air gun. 7023A is drilled and and has 1/4" pipe thread ready for your fittings.

Air gun models make it easier to de-mold difficult parts.

Thin Line

The Thin Line wedges are perfect for those hard to reach places. The White is rigid where the Pink is flexible to get into curved molds. Plastic wedges are used throughout the fiberglass industry to avoid damaging the mold and the part.

SPREADERS

Translucent Spreader, BD1
The Translucent spreader is stiffer than commonly available spreaders. It is a special chemically resistant material which will not permanently bond to body putty, which can easily be peeled off when hard. The edge is very straight and has a precise contour for precise application of putty without streaking. Also known as "Bondo Spreader". These bondo spreaders have many other uses, such as cleaning smooth surfaces, table tops etc.
Size is 5-1/4" x 3".

Hand Lay-Up Resin Squeegee, BD2

Revolutionary Product!

This very economical flexible Red spreader/squeegee is ideal for applying polyester resins and is chemically resistant to acetone, resin, etc. The flexibility of the Red squeegee works extremely well for hand lay-up of resin to fiberglass cloth and a "HIGH GLASS TO RESIN RATIO" is easily achieved.
Size is 5-1/4" x 3". These soft bondo spreaders have many other uses, such as spreading bondo (body filler) in a "Curved shape". These red spreaders must be tried to appreciate, as they are not available in the auto body industry and have only recently been introduced.

White Spreader, BD3
The White spreader is a very rigid nylon to maintain high integrity in abrasive applications. It is also ideally suited for mold and mixing container clean-up. Well suited for the unique requirements of the Marble industry. Plastic wedges are used throughout the fiberglass industry to avoid damaging the mold and the part. The stiff nylon bondo spreaders have many other uses, such as scraping ice from a windshield.
Size is 5-1/4" x 3".

Large Spreader, BD4
The BD4 is a medium stiffness spreader. It is a special chemically resistant material which will not permanently bond to body putty, which can easily be peeled off when hard. SQUEEGEES

Rubber Hand Lay-Up Resin Squeegee
36" long rubber stock for cutting into smaller lengths as needed. This special rubber compound has been formulated to withstand fiberglass cleanup solvents, acetone and water-based solvents. Flexible enough to match the contour of most irregular shapes. Edge is a special wedge shape to allow proper pressure in spreading the resin and easily forcing out air bubbles. The 6" version is already cut to the standard length as used by most shops. Also known as a "Resin Squeegee".
